Yozora is a character in the Kingdom Hearts series and is a playable character in Verum Rex, as well as a cameo character in the Toy Box world of Kingdom Hearts III. Yozora was originally intended to be a main character for the cancelled Final Fantasy Versus XIII, and his story would have been intertwined with Noctis’s.
In his original design, Yozora was a young adult man with spiky crystal coloured hair and red eyes (although due to his heterochromia, his left eye is gray). He also wore a black vest, black cargo pants, a grey shirt with plaid fittings, a large ring on one hand, a hoop earrings that reach the elbow, and black gloves which are about half the size of his forearm. This would remain his character’s look for the rest of the development and into the production of Verum Rex, although it would later be revised to look more realistic and modern, with a co-design by Hiromu Takahara.
During his battle with Sora, Yozora is revealed to be a powerful warrior with many unique and formidable capabilities. Despite being defeated by Sora, he did not seem particularly fazed and appeared to be holding back. Yozora can summon a drone that can duplicate his own weapon, create a vacuum of energy that sucks in foes and traps them inside, turn his Invisible Slash into a lock-on attack, unleash lasers on Sora, steal any items Sora has stacked up to the point where she only has one item remaining, drain Sora’s HP orbs to regain his own, and teleport into Sora’s body to extract healing items such as Kupo Coins.
Yozora also has a calm and caring personality, which is a stark contrast to his aggressive and brash appearance. He often puts others before himself and tries to hide his insecurities by acting cool, which is why he does not take Sora’s threats lightly.
